Cacao Granola Recipe

This granola makes for the perfect start to your day. Full of essential nutrients, it will keep you feeling full and satisfied all morning. The added cacao gives you a natural energy boost that doesn’t result in a crash a few hours later. The combination of the coconut and cacao pairs perfectly with the nuts, seeds and cinnamon, it seriously melts in your mouth!

Maple and Cacao Granola

Makes approximately 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups organic rolled oats

  • ½ cup desiccated coconut

  • ½ cup almonds (chopped roughly)

  • ½ cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)

  • ¼ cup sesame seeds

  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil

  • ¼ cup 100% maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp. raw cacao powder

  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup goji berries

  • ¼ tsp. sea salt

Method

Preheat oven to 130°C. Mix all ingredients (except goji berries) in a large bowl until well combined. Spread evenly over two lined baking trays. Bake for 30 minutes, turning half way. Set aside to cool. Once cooled, add goji berries and serve with unsweetened almond milk and fresh fruit!

Variation: to make gluten-free granola omit rolled oats for coconut flakes or quinoa flakes.
